Job Description

Job Summary 

Revenue Cycle Coordinator is responsible for the effective and efficient operations of all sub-departments included in Patient Accounting, charge capture/ Revenue Cycle and Accounts Receivable Management. Ensures that accounts receivables, bad debt and cash flow metrics provides a strong financial position for the facility. Representing Revenue Cycle processes, the coordinator is responsible for facility-wide oversight of the compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards associated with patient accounting, Revenue Cycle departments and affiliated services, leadership of Revenue Cycle team members, resource development and implementation, and measurement, reporting and audit of Revenue Cycle Performance Metrics. The Revenue Cycle Coordinator develops internal and external growth initiatives in coordination with the facility's strategic growth initiatives. 

Essential Functions

Manages on-going charge capture improvement initiatives Plans and prepares monthly revenue reports for review. Maintain process documents for revenue integrity procedures. Monitors gross revenue performance against budget and assists in root cause analysis and mitigation of discovered findings Monitors department work queues (i.e. Charge Review) of assigned areas and provides assistance to resolve WQ issues when needed to facilitate timely WQ resolution Demonstrates excellent verbal communication skills. Conducts audits on a monthly basis Develops educational materials (i.e. Word, PowerPoint) for assigned clinical area to use for training purposes as needed Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business administration or hospital administration or related financial discipline. required H.S. Diploma or GED required 3-5 years management experience of related financial areas in large healthcare facility required 0-1 years Experience in management reporting and advanced Microsoft Excel skills required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent customer relations (practice and implementation of customer relations based culture) and oral/written communication skills throughout diverse patient, staff and leadership populations are required. Works independently or as part of a team. Verbal and written communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft Applications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent leadership skills Detail-oriented.

Licenses and Certifications

Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) Healthcare Financial Management Association preferred
