The team
The Revenue Performance Organization in Controllership is a dynamic, stakeholder and customer-oriented team in Finance that works with sales and services on customer contracts, statements of work (SOWs), orders, and structures and manages these deals from proposal through order to revenue recognition. We value business focus while ensuring that we meet compliance and revenue standards under IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). We collaborate with legal, sales, project managers, FP&A, broader controllership, shared services, and audit associates.
The role
In this role, you will provide advice and support to global Hitachi Digital Services Sales, Project Management and Finance organizations, while translating complex commercial, accounting and revenue recognition issues during contract/deal/statement of work negotiations to ensure deals are structured in accordance with Hitachi Digital Revenue Recognition policies and IFRS15 and occasionally IFRS16 standards to optimize revenue and profits.
To support the business, you will work with, support and mentor a small team of Revenue Performance associates and apply revenue and accounting standards from Hitachi Digital Policy and IFRS15 and 16 accounting standards. You will be reporting directly to the Global Revenue Performance Manager. Together you will be responsible for ensuring revenue transactions are reviewed, documented, and accounted for correctly and you will be a formal approver of contracts above a certain value threshold.
You will also perform quarterly Standalone Selling Price (Fair Value) rates calculations and help track performance of certain high value and complex contracts/ projects (percentage of completion, unbilled or unearned balances review, etc.) as well as support audit and SOX requirements.
You will be able to participate in review, structuring and influencing various revenue contract types including fixed fee services, managed services, time and material, consumption models and occasionally hardware/software or turnkey contracts. You will also have an opportunity to grow and learn new contract types as the business evolves.
What you’ll bring
