Inspection of articles after maintenance, prevent maintenance, overhaul and alteration. Ensure compliance with company Repair Station Manual and required 14 CFR’s by repair station employees. Verify all required reports, tests and company forms are complete and accurate.
Responsibilities Authorize for return-to-service of articles after maintenance, preventive maintenance, overhaul & alterations. Receiving of articles, conduct preliminary inspection on articles maintained including obvious damage, hidden damage inspection, customer paperwork. Required Inspection Item (RII) FAR 121.371, for items that if not performed properly or if improper parts or material are used, could result in failure, malfunction, or defect endangering the safe operation of the aircraft. In-process inspection of articles to determine that procedures are complied with that may later be hidden by assembly. Specific process inspection of articles that have specific processes (i.e. NDT) Inspectors report to the quality supervisor for issues related to duties for the inspection of work done on articles. Quality of Work: Demonstrates concern for the accuracy and quality of work. Takes Steps to correct mistakes and uses feedback to improve overall performance. Competencies Education and Experience: Requires a high school diploma or GED (associate degree preferred) and 3–5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Must hold an Airframe and/or Powerplant certificate, a Repairman Certificate, or have 18 months of experience to qualify for Repairman certification. Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information. Ability to adapt work schedule to meet program and company goals. Ability to schedule and manage multiple tasks. Good communication skills including written, verbal, in person and by telephone reasoning and thinking skills and ability to problem solve. Ability to perform detail-oriented work accurately. Ability to work in potentially stressful situations. Demonstrates strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to complete tasks or continue in a course of action despite opposition or barriers. Possesses strong logical, mathematical, database, and reporting skills.
