**Retirement Specialist**
Job Summary:
+ Administers retirement plans, primarily a defined benefit pension plan. Maintains participant and accounting records, ensures plans are compliant with federal laws and regulations, and coordinates retirement plan activities with other departments. Performs work with a high degree of latitude. Handles the most complex issues. Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter.
Responsibilities:
+ Calculate defined benefit retirement benefits including joint and survivor benefits for assigned entities and plans.
+ Process requests for retirement benefits.
+ Coordinate retirement plan activities with other departments and outside vendors.
+ Report on vested terminated employees and take actions as needed.
+ Administer retiree medical programs and reimbursements.
+ Support pension plan audits.
+ Maintain files and produce reports related to participants in assigned plans.
+ Provide assistance for Defined Contribution Savings Plans, as necessary.
+ Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
+ Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
Credentials:
+ Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)- Preferred
Education or Equivalent Experience:
+ Bachelor of Arts or Science- Required
+ 3+ years of experience with pension administration or a related area- Required
Skills & Abilities:
+ Understanding of benefit plan designs
+ Must be attentive to detail
+ Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills
+ Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)
+ Access skills- Preferred
