Acts as a Wyoming Retirement System (WRS) liaison; instructs and guides numerous employers across the state on all matters associated with implementing WRS and state statute requirements for retirement. Without providing recommendations or advice, delivers member education on WRS benefits, investing for retirement, and retirement planning to eligible employees through group seminars and one-on-one counseling. Assists members daily by providing excellent customer service and guidance regarding individual retirement benefits and options. Human Resource Contact: Ryan Scheer /ryan.scheer2@wyo.gov/ 307-777-8570 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level. + Delivers member education on all WRS benefits, investing for retirement, and retirement planning to eligible employees through group seminars and one-on-one counseling without providing recommendations. + Generates mass mailings to employer liaisons to host seminars. + Works collaboratively with other departments within WRS on retirement initiatives and educational outreach. + Schedules upcoming events and contacts employer liaisons to promote WRS educational services and to schedule seminars. + Prepares handouts and materials for seminars. + Conducts data input for new enrollment or updates into the Deferred Compensation program. + Delivers approved educational seminars to eligible employees throughout Wyoming. + Responsible for customer service and individual counseling. + Organizes and schedules educational seminars. Qualifications PREFERENCES: Preference will be given to candidates with finance knowledge and/or experience working directly with a retirement plan or 457 plan. KNOWLEDGE: + Knowledge of all of the WRS plans and their statutory obligations. + Ability to accurately assess other people’s needs to understand their goals, objectives, and knowledge levels. + Knowledge of investment theory and principles associated with retirement counseling. + Knowledge of teaching, training, educating, and other instructional methods. + Ability to travel. + Skills to assist in the creation and development of educational material for the agency. + Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. + Knowledge of web-based meeting platforms such as Google Hangouts or Zoom. + Excellent customer service skills + Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with both state agencies and local governmental agencies, including all school districts within Wyoming. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance) Experience: 0-2 years of related work experience Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None OR Education & Experience Substitution: 3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Investment Educator Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: + Office setting + Some travel out of state may be required for conferences + Regular travel around the state of Wyoming will occur NOTES: + FLSA: Exempt + Hiring will be contingent upon the successful passage of a background check.
