Our UPMC Corporate Benefits team has an exciting opportunity available as a Retirement Benefits Specialist. This is a full-time position that offers a weekly, hybrid work environment.
In this role, the Retirement Benefits Specialist will perform technical and specialized work involved in the support of and administration of UPMC's retirement benefits. They'll interpret and ensure compliance with laws, contractual arrangements and corporate policy.

Responsibilities:
+ Establish processes that are efficient and effective in delivering quality service to staff members, entire HR department and former employees/retirees.
+ Participate in the administration, coordination with HRIS, Payroll, external vendors, etc for Accurate Retirement Payroll Processing for Biweekly, Monthly or Executive Pays. Includes analyzing pay files to monitor 402(g) and 415 limits, reviewing and correcting error reports resulting from automated file processing to and from UPMC's retirement recordkeeper and timely submission of any required payroll corrections.
+ Assist with ongoing administration of legacy retirement plans and vendor coordination, loan payment processing, and accuracy of employee service credit as required.
+ Run monthly union reports and calculate pension contributions based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for each employee and make payment to appropriate Union each month (Central Pension Fund, Steelworker's Pension Trust, SEIU and Teamsters).
+ Update and analyze retirement data files where needed and with the Sr. Retirement and Compliance Specialist, make corrections under established IRS recommended programs.
+ Assist in Retirement Plan mergers or 403(b) transfer processes or spinoffs or withdrawals to include coordinating data exchanges between plan vendors and signing as plan administrator on legacy 403(b) Plans distribution or rollover forms via fax, email or plan sponsor websites.
+ Partner with team members and Manager, Retirement Plans and Compliance for continued awareness of regulatory and industry changes impacting UPMC's retirement programs.
+ Participate on special project teams as required.
+ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required and 3 years of retirement, employee benefits, or payroll experience required.
+ OR High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of retirement, employee benefits, or payroll experience required.
+ Knowledge of laws pertaining to retirement benefits, ERISA, COBRA, IRS Code and Dept. of Labor preferred.
+ Analytical Skills, Presentation skills, Advanced Excel skills strongly preferred.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
