Location: South Woodslee , ON 

Position: Activation and Restorative Care Aide - Full Time (8am-4pm- every other weekend included)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Proof of successful completion of a degree or diploma in Therapeutic Recreation or Leisure Studies, Gerontology, Activation, Kinesiology, or other related field from College / University. Successful completion of Restorative Care Education Training (RCET Certificate). Knowledge and demonstrated experience in one-one/group program planning, implementation and evaluation for both well and the cognitively impaired. Ability to work independently and ability to manage time effectively. Eligible for membership with TRO, APO, CTRA or other recognized recreation association. Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to read and write in English well enough to understand complex verbal and written instructions and complete written documentation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop, implement, and evaluate diversified programs and services to meet the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of all residents. Identify and assess the residents’ needs to develop fulfilling activities and encourage participation in group / 1-1 programming. Set up / clean up activity area as necessary and assist with transporting residents to and from programs. Implement restorative programs with residents as discussed by the Restorative Care Cross-Functional Team. Report significant changes of resident behaviour or condition to Supervisor and appropriate nursing staff and record incidents in resident’s chart. Attend Interdisciplinary Care Conferences as required. Maintain program and resident records utilizing Welbi / PCC / POC and complete RAI/MDS assessments.
