A Restaurant General Manager is responsible for managing restaurant operations to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while training staff and working within budgeted guidelines.
What will I be doing?
As a Restaurant General Manager, you are responsible for managing restaurant operations to deliver an excellent Guest and Team Member experience. You will also be required to manage, train, and develop team members and work within all budgeted guidelines. You will oversee the daily operations of Ongetem Restaurant, the meeting room and other food service outlets, like the team members’ restaurant.
Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Menu planning and development: Collaborating with chefs and other stakeholders to create menus that meet customer expectations and dietary requirements.
Food quality control: Ensuring that food is prepared and presented to high standards, and that food safety and hygiene protocols are followed.Inventory management: Managing inventory levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.Team management: Supervising and training staff, including servers, bartenders, and or kitchen staff. Recruit, manage, train and develop the Restaurant team. Set departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, and policies and procedures. Ensure communication meetings are conducted and post-meeting minutes generated. Lead and mentor the Restaurant team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide training opportunitiesCustomer service: Ensuring that guests have a positive dining experience and addressing any complaints or issues. Accountable for stock takes. Manage Restaurant operations and maintain exceptional levels of customer service.Financial management: Managing budgets, controlling costs, and increasing revenue.
Compliance: Ensuring that the whole hotel complies with food safety and health regulations, as well as labor laws and other relevant regulations. Work within budgeted guidelines in relation to Food and Payroll
