The Four Seasons Napa Valley is looking for an individual who shares a passion for Food & Beverage and who infuses excellence into everything they do.
About the role: The Restaurant expeditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of operations between the kitchen and dining area. Work with kitchen staff and servers to ensure clear communication and efficient workflow. Inspect dishes before they are served to ensure they meet quality and presentation standards. Can also perform a range of duties which may include assisting guests with orders, taking feedback, and preparing table set-ups. Respond to all interactions in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction and attend to guest needs and requests with a sense of urgency in the Resort’s Food & Beverage areas.
What you will do:
High level of food knowledge.
Specific knowledge of menu items and possible allergies.
Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with FOH, BOH and our guests.
Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
Assist in the set up and break down of kitchen pass.
Assist with set up of restaurant for service.
Assist with polishing silverware and glass wear before and after service.
Polishing and stocking of linen, plates, silver ware and glassware for service.
Preparation of garnishes for service.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout the Restaurant for the shift.
Assistance with guest service includes retrieving food from the kitchen and safely transporting it to guests, as well as removal of items from the guest’s table.
Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
Coordinate the BOH and servers to maintain efficient service.
Checks dishes for accuracy, presentation, and consistency.
Inform culinary team of pace and flow of service, dictate the flow if necessary.
What you bring:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum one-year food and beverage service or equivalent.
Minimum one year’s food service or related work.
Ability to communicate professional and accurately.
Job requires ability to stand for 8 hours. Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
Previous experience in a luxury and/or Michelin starred environment, highly desirable.
High school education, cooking school or culinary institute education preferred.
Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment.
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations and guests.
This position is not eligible for work sponsorship/visa. Candidates must possess valid US work authorization.
