Respiratory Therapy Team Leader, Full Time $20K Sign On Bonus
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** 12 Hour Day Shift **Description:** Respiratory Therapist –Educator Provide education and training Integrate best practice relative to specialty Execute consistent meetings Ensure accountability for staff performance relative to specialty Have working knowledge of all respiratory services Keep current with best practice and latest technology and application for RT care Meet with vendors to evaluate new products, develop processes, and report out to leadership team. Maintain ACLS, BLS and PALS certification. Instructor level a plus Keep abreast of TJC, CMS, evidence-based practice, and National Safety Goals. Evaluate the relevance of RT practice with patient population and needs. Monitor value-based care by assessing patient needs and reconciling therapy with indications. Drive protocols and practice through best practice literature Provide guidance, leadership, and coordination for the precepting of new hires and onboarding of colleagues Monitor progress of new hires for learning and evidence of competency Review and revise competency assessment tools for relevance and effectiveness. Provide final assessment of competency review for colleagues- new hires and ongoing annual needs Develop and maintain quality, competent preceptors. Foster a continuous learning environment by engaging others to precept and teach as skills allow. Assure that required staff competencies are completed Oversee the completion of ACLS, BLS and PALS certification for RT staff Participate in multidisciplinary leadership teams to discuss details relative to RT processes including care planning, therapies and modality use Provide a conduit for medical staff residents and providers to communicate with RT Work with nursing educators to provide continuous staff education to enhance interdisciplinary dynamics Ensure policies and practices are current with TJC, CMS, evidence-based practice, and National Safety Goals as they specifically relate to RT. Review policies annually Engage medical director to provide annual education and input for RT Offer hands on workshop annually on current topics and needs. Provide 2 annual CEU offerings related to RT care. Meet regularly with RT leadership team to discuss issues relative to competencies, performance and targeted needs for education. Identify Key Performance Indicators to drive best practice and culture, collect and submit monthly KPI data **Administers respiratory care to all patients in accordance with physicians’ orders. To include mechanical ventilation, airway management and blood gas procedures.** **Provides direct patient care to all pediatric and adult patients.** **Acts as relief supervisor as necessary.** **Takes leadership role in a specialty area.** **Functions as a team leader and clinical resource person for a specialty area** **Provides or establishes inservice education relative to the area of specialty as requested annually.** **Functions as a clinical resource person within the scope of practice and education as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.** **Accomplished goals and objectives set by Team Leader and management team.** **Assures annual competencies are completed relative to area of specialty.** **Reviews policies annually relative to area of specialty.** **Stays abreast of national trends/changes relative to area of specialty.** **LICENSURE:** + Current State of Florida License as a Registered Respiratory Therapist from the Departmentof Health. + BLS certification required.
