Respiratory Therapy Supervisor

At Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation our services have been designed for patients who need a longer rehabilitation hospitalization for their recovery. We are currently seeking a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor to join our team.
We provide advanced treatment and comprehensive care to best address the medical, physical, emotional and vocational challenges for individuals with:
Brain InjurySpinal Cord InjuryStrokeAmputationNeurological DisordersOrthopedic ConditionsMultiple TraumasMedically complex ResponsibilitiesUsing discretion and independent judgment, assumes responsibility for overall functions and professional growth of the Department, contributes to development of site-specific therapist driven protocols, provides consultation with regard to pulmonary disorders and Respiratory Therapy practice, and provides quality respiratory care while ensuring the development and routine monitoring of the Respiratory Therapy Department. This position also provides discipline specific education to patients, families and staff as required, and works collaboratively with the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure that all departmental standards are met while following the appropriate standards of practice to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications• Current State License
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Required
• Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Care Program Required, Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy Preferred
• Current BLS certification, ACLS required within 6 months of hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift).
• Three years experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an Acute Care setting preferred
• One year supervisory experience within the last three years is preferred.
