All while understanding that **together** we are even better. **Schedule:** Full-time days 8-hour shifts and 12-hour shifts; 3 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; Occasional night shift to support department educational needs **Locations:** UChicago Medicine AdventHealth La Grange Hospital, 5101 S Willow Springs Road, La Grange, IL **The role you’ll contribute:** Assesses, plans, implementing and evaluates staff development activities for respiratory therapy services. **The value you’ll bring to the team:** · Collaborates with managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff. · Develops, implements, and evaluates educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals. · Serves as a consultant for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development. · Participates in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs. · Evaluates respiratory practice and treatment based on patient outcomes. · Orientation of new staff members · Annual competency preparation and administration · Facilitation of student clinical rotations · Nursing orientation · Ancillary education and support · RT staffing/charge duties as needed · COPD Navigator duties - COPD education and scheduling patients in Pulmonary Disease Clinic · Best practice research and investigation · Facilitation of vendor in-services Qualifications **The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:** **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:** · Associate’s degree required. · Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree preferred. · At least 1 year of hospital experience required. · At least 7 years acute care experience preferred. · Level 3 NICU experience preferred. · Experience drawing and running ABG’s preferred. · Prior supervisor or educator experience preferred. **LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:** · BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. · Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. **LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:** · Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). · Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). · Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA). · Pediatric Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA). · Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
