Respiratory Therapist Night Shift
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Night Shift **Description:** **_Registered Respiratory Therapist_** **What you will do as a Registered Respiratory Therapist:** Provide individualized respiratory care for the entire age continuum. Assists with facilitating improvement in the overall quality of patient care. Utilizes a multidisciplinary approach and collaborates with the entire health care team in coordinating services rendered to all patients. Participates in orientation of staff and student training programs for Trinity Health System as a teaching institution representing the Respiratory Care department. **What you will need as a Respiratory Therapist:** + Successful completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program. + Registered as Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. + Current licensure to practice in the State of Michigan as Respiratory Therapist. + Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association required. + Maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Practioner (NRP) and Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification. Both required within 6 months of hire. + Previous work experience as a Respiratory Therapist preferred. **Essential Functions as a Respiratory Therapist:** + Demonstrates technical and clinical competence in adult critical care. Applies patient care protocols and utilizes assessment information to review and revise plan of care accordingly. + Excellent organizational skills for the completion of patient care. Demonstrates ability to prioritize therapy and patient care activities to meet changing demands. + Communicates with healthcare providers, units, and other customers on an ongoing basis to coordinate services and exceed customer service needs. Acts as a resource to physicians, nurses, and other team members to address clinical patient care concerns. + Ensures appropriate documentation/charges are entered for the correct patient, encounter, date/time of service per practice expectations and facilitates corrections as needed. + Assists with tracking and monitoring of equipment and requests services for maintaining equipment as needed. + Participates in on-going education and takes personal accountability to seek experiences in order to maintain skills/competency. + Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, associates, and visitors to Trinity Health System.
