Along with department leaders, he/she is responsible for staffing and scheduling team members to provide adequate coverage for provision of care for all patients with pulmonary needs. Develops strong relationships with physicians and other referral sources and ensures compliance with the established pulmonary programs. Maintains open and on-going communications with their leader to ensure patient, staff, and facility needs are met. Maintain ongoing clinical competence requiring regular clinical practice and taking a patient assignment as situations warrant, including assisting Physicians with Bronchoscopies, performing patient transports, and monitoring staff documentation. Must be able to independently function in all clinical areas and patient populations. Appropriate activities include attendance in all department meetings, staff scheduling, and provision of direct patient care. Staff development and improvement of clinical skills for clinical team is also a priority of this position. The expectation for the Team Lead is to be an Ambassador to patients and families for better patient outcomes and satisfaction; monitoring of documentation and overseeing revenue cycle and charges, process improvement department program and department safety officer. They will also maintain comptenecy in utilizing and troubleshooting ABG machines.
