RRT - Respiratory Therapist

Job Description:
The respiratory therapist assesses, treats, and monitors patients with respiratory diseases and conditions. This includes the delivery of medicated and non-medicated therapy as ordered by the provider. Additionally, therapists provide invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator support for acute respiratory failure. As part of patient assessment and management, the therapist performs diagnostic test procedures. In addition, therapist assists in departmental operations by addicting with quality improvement projects, equipment, and supplies. The certified therapist follows all applicable rules and regulations established by the licensure board depending on the state in which respiratory therapy is practiced.
Requirements:
Associate's degree in respiratory therapy required.
Current Kentucky Respiratory Care license required.
Registered Respiratory therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care required.
Must obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 6 months (therapists working with the neonatal population)
Must obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months
Must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months.
Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support within 1 week and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy preferred.
