We are looking to hire a Respiratory Therapist. As a Respiratory Therapist at MercyOne, you will This position is responsible for the administration of routine respiratory care to all pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Areas worked include general acute care areas, intensive care, emergency department, surgical suites, recovery rooms, skilled nursing facilities, and other clinical areas. + Performs incentive spirometry, aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, pulmonary drainage procedures, BIPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, therapeutic bronchoscopy, co-oximetry, ekg, holter, zio, intubation assist, extubation, blood gas, outpatient testing, and suctioning following interpretation of physician order. + Assesses patients receiving Respiratory Care using beside assessment technique and knowledge of indications, contraindications, hazards of the above procedures and actions/reactions of medications being given. Responds to and are team members of the resuscitation and rapid response pages. + Performs basic spirometry procedures, electrocardiograms, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis. + Provides patient education and assists with community events dealing with Respiratory Care. + Areas worked include general acute care areas, intensive care, emergency department, surgical suites, recovery rooms, skilled nursing facilities, and other clinical areas. **Schedule:** + Full Time; 36 hours; Day Shift **General Requirements:** + High school diploma or equivalent; or associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science required _._ + Graduate of respiratory therapy program required or board-eligible within a few months of graduation as certification is required at hire/transfer. + Credentialed by the NBRC at the Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist level required. + Current Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure in the state of Iowa required. + CAPRS and N95 fit testing validation within 30 days of hire required. + Experience: + Must have demonstrated competence in Respiratory Care. + Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes: + Must be able to read, write and/or speak English Colleagues of MercyOne Health System enjoy competitive compensation with a full benefits package and opportunity for growth throughout the system!
