Overview We are seeking a Respiratory Therapis t , internally referred to as our Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) . The Respiratory Therapist, also known as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP II), plays a crucial role in the care and management of patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. They assist patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions in achieving optimal respiratory function and improving their quality of life. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/ PRN as needed . Shift’s Available : Days Employment Type : Per Diem ( PD / PRN) Hours: 12-hour shifts – 6:00am to 6:30pm Location : St. Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare:  + Competitive compensation + Medical insurance benefit plan + 401K + Sick leave accrual Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): + W ill provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily + C onduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients + S et up, monitor , and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently + M ay be part of a rapid response team in emergencies, which you will provid e airway management, perform intubations, and resuscitat e patients in critical situations + A ssess patients' respiratory status, monitor their progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed + E nsure that all respiratory equipment is properly cleaned , sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safety Qualifications Education and Work Experience Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers .
