The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: Under the direction and supervision of the Manager of Respiratory Therapy, and /or his/her designee, and in accordance with Medical Center and Department Policy and Procedure is responsible for the distribution and inventory control of compressed medical gasses throughout the hospital. Qualifications: Required: + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with hospital guest and inter/intradepartmental employees Essential Functions: + Maintains adequate supply of oxygen and other medical gasses on patient care floors and other designated medical gas storage areas. + Removes empty cylinders from medical gas storage areas and returns them to the medical gas storage room located on the receiving dock. + Monitors consumption of medical gases for inventory control purposes. + Maintains all medical gas storage areas in a manner compliant with all safety regulations. + Keeps the Manager informed of sudden, or unexpected changes in medical gas consumption. + Accepts and verifies accuracy of medical gas deliveries and cylinder returns. + Reports any unsafe or otherwise hazardous practices or equipment to the Manager. + Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed by the Manager. + Maintain equipment/preventive maintenance with Biomed. + Oxygen rounds for billing.
