Rate: $28.13/hr
OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES :
The Residential Recovery Sr. Counselor will support the day-to-day operations of the residential recovery program ensuring compliance with state and OASAS regulations as well as agency policies and procedures for adults in recovery. Working under the direction of a Residential Recovery Supervisor, Residential Recovery Sr. Counselor provides services that enrich the lives of individuals we support. Our mission is to help individuals’ live happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives. This position oversees day-to-day routines of residents: wakeup, grooming/dressing, preparing for work, programs or appointments, shared mealtimes, household tasks social/recreational activities and pm curfews. Provide direct support for up to 12 residents by enforcing adherence to house rules, policies and practices for all residents and visitors.
The Residential Recovery Sr. Counselor steps into tasks delegated by the Supervisor, and leads in the absence of the Supervisor.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS :
+ Screens and assesses resident referrals for appropriateness of level of care and coordinates intake appointments.
+ Maintains referral wait list.
+ Completes new resident intake and orientation, ensuring accuracy of documentation.
+ Completes LOCADTR and OASAS Apps admissions and discharges.
+ Provides supervision to Residential Recovery Counselors seeking credentialing.
+ Provides individual counseling to a caseload of residents.
+ Assists supervisor with house maintenance issues and coordination with vendors such as HVAC, cable, sanitation, etc.
+ Assist with staff scheduling.
+ Assist with onboarding and training of new staff.
+ Assist with appointments and transportation schedule.
+ Monitor chore sheet and check for accuracy.
+ Orient residents to the program, local surroundings, and community resources.
+ Conduct urine drug screens and breathalyzer with residents according to protocol.
+ Provide direct, on-site supervision for up to 12 residents and oversee day-to-day functioning of the house.
+ Be a leader in the absence of the house Residential Recovery Supervisor.
+ Supports the resident in the acquisition of activities of daily living skills, community living and work readiness skills.
+ Hold/facilitate resident meetings to plan meals or outings, assign chores, and listen to feedback
+ Report safety concerns at residence and follow-through to resolution.
+ Respond to routine and/or emergency medical needs as required.
+ Hold resident accountable to the core aspects of their recovery program.
+ Discuss with Residential Recovery Supervisor and, as necessary, provide written notes regarding the response of the resident to community living and compliance with treatment plan.
+ Track and attend mandatory trainings
+ Assists the client in applying de-escalation, problem solving and crisis resolution skills.
+ Completes weekly written observational reports regarding attitudes, behaviors and contributions to the house and involvement in the recovering community.
+ Submit all billable records and program documentation, in a timely and accurate fashion.
+ Maintains consistent weekly contact with Residential Recovery Supervisor.
+ Responsible for notifying the Supervisor of Residents’ late arrival or no return from curfew.
+ Performs additional duties which help to ensure the quality of resident services provided.
+ Monitor Family Visits and provides assistance to Residents as necessary.
+ Provides assistance to residents concerning growth and sobriety issues.
+ Assist with grocery shopping as directed by the Supervisor.
+ Provide transportation with company vehicles for self-help, employment, doctor visits and any other approved locations by the Residential Recovery Supervisor.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:
+ Member of the agency’s safety committee.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
+ CASAC, CASAC II, CASAC ADVANCED, or MASTER CASACREQUIRED
+ CASAC ADVANCED OR MASTER CASACPREFERRED
