Silver Oak Academy is located on a scenic 78 acre campus surrounded by sprawling corn fields, beautiful woods full of local wildlife and foliage, a football stadium, an athletic center (gymnasium, padded wrestling room, a fully equipped weight room & more), a Tech Center, student housing for 96 youth, and an academic building all just a short commute from Frederick, Baltimore & DC. On site dormitories are available for staff use during their shift and overnight for those with a long commute, or limited transportation.

Daily Expectations and Responsibilities

The Kitchen Manager works as a staff member of the Ancillary team. Primarily responsible for providing quality customer and employee services regarding food service in a residential school cafeteria. Ensures that healthy and tasty food is prepared in accordance with all Federal, State and local agencies, and the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program requirements. Maintains the entire dining and preparation areas of the food service facility are maintained in a sanitary condition that meets or exceeds the requirements set forth by Federal, State, and local regulations. Performs duties in the cooking of food, assists with ordering food, scheduling employees and necessary menu changes. This position reports to the Program Director and supervises the cooks.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent. College preferred. At least two years of experience supervising five or more employees. At least four years of experience in the field. Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen (we no longer test for THC), physical and TB test.
