Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Provides guidance, direction, and support to promote students’ personal growth, independence, and social skills.
+ Assists students with daily living activities, homework, and the development of life skills.
+ Maintains a positive and respectful living environment that encourages cooperation and good citizenship.
+ Plans, organizes, and participates in recreational, social, and educational activities.
+ Monitors student behavior and addresses issues in accordance with established policies and procedures.
+ Communicates with staff, parents, and administration regarding student needs, concerns, and progress.
+ Maintains required logs, reports, and documentation related to student activities and care.
+ Responds to emergencies and follows established safety and security protocols.

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional. If chosen required to take a probationary appointment.
Career Progression:This position may be filled as a Residential Advisor 1, 2, or 3.
Location: The residential department at the Louisiana Special School District.
