Resident Engineer acts within the Chief Engineering team to coordinate product actions between Indiana Transmission Plant, Kokomo Casting Plant, Kokomo Transmission Plant and the Product Release Center and Product Validation Center. Activities involve coordination with suppliers, as well as Vehicle Assembly Plants and Module Integrators. Collaborate with Master-Black-Belt coach to execute Shainin studies to establish root cause and identify solutions for over-target conditions

Engineering Changes/Design Requirements:
Pilot Builds Production Evaluation Runs Process Deviation Approvals Process Change Requests and validation Design Model Year Build Cards Adherence to design standards and Bill of Material Provide technical direction to employees regarding root cause analysis, issue resolution and establish corrective actions serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the manufacturing facility Interpret released engineering designs, specifications, materials and standards for hourly and salary personnel Communicate with design engineering on the “best practice” to design for manufacturing Lead teams to identify risks/hazards associated with product designs, processes, applications, applying lessons learned, and assist in the generation of PFMEA's and associated control plans Identify Error and Mistake Proofing opportunities for identified human errors Identify components for traceability throughout the manufacturing process Interface with model responsible engineers to facilitate launch of new programs with highest quality standards and performanceWarranty/Car Plant/Functional Audit Findings:
Troubleshoot to determine cause of failure and implement countermeasures Work with Test Garage personal to prevent possible failures Provide product training to salary and non-salary plant personnel Review competitive benchmarking Serve as the Voice of the Customer Develop inspection standards and best methods for performing inspectionFTC/FTQ:
Assist manufacturing engineering with process variation reduction Reduce plant cost by assisting in scrap reduction, obsolescence reduction, acceptable rework procedures, etc. Provides supervision necessary to perform, administer or direct rework/repair methods and processes in compliance with engineering standardsBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree field 3 or more years of experience in Automotive Engineering and/or Geared Systems 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environmentPreferred Qualifications:
