Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking highly qualified Resident Engineers to lead construction inspection and contract administration activities on transportation infrastructure projects throughout New Jersey.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary representative on-site, overseeing contractor performance and verifying compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable regulationsManage daily inspection activities, field staff, and project documentationCoordinate with NJDOT, NJTA, municipal stakeholders, contractors, and AECOM project managementMonitor project schedule, budget, and quality metrics, proactively addressing issues as they ariseReview and process contractor submittals, requests for information, and change ordersPrepare progress reports, maintain accurate records, and participate in project meetingsEnsure adherence to safety standards and environmental compliance requirementsQualificationsMinimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, plus 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
NICET Level IV certification in Transportation/Highway ConstructionThe ideal candidates will have significant prior experience on New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) and New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) projectsProficiency with NJDOT and NJTA specifications, policies, and construction administration proceduresMinimum of 10 years of construction inspection and contract administration experience on transportation projects half of it in the capacity of Resident EngineerProfessional Engineer (PE) license in New JerseyStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with electronic project management and documentation systems (e.g., Primavera, CapEx, NJDOT Site Manager)Additional InformationRelocation assistance is not available for this roleSponsorship is available for this roleAbout AECOM
