Grow with us, H2O+U **Your Opportunity** Stantec’s Water practice is seeking a highly motivated Resident Engineer with large water and wastewater pump stations, treatment plants and/or force main project experience. This opportunity is for long-term water and wastewater treatment projects and programs in the DC-Metro area. **Your Key Responsibilities** + Responsible for the technical supervision for the construction phase of projects. Various project types include large wastewater pump stations and water/wastewater treatment plants. + Responsible for supervising Stantec staff, including development of Management plans, tracking career progress, mentoring, advocating for and approving timesheets and training/development requests. + Manage inspection staff and the delivery of daily inspector reports in accordance with clients’ requirements. + Act as liaison to design staff to respond to Contractors’ RFI's and review of shop drawings. + Serve as the primary point of contact on assigned construction contracts, with primary responsibility for construction contract administration and quality management. + Responsible for overall site safety, permit status compliance and coordination with other agencies. + Familiarity with construction procedures and scheduling of work sequences. + Provides technical review of construction plans and specifications and project changes for constructability and practicality. + Manage office staff responsible for record keeping, general correspondence, compiling and drafting of required reports and deliverables. + Monitors Contractor performance, quality, schedule, overall responsiveness, and effectiveness. + Exerts influence over and maintain excellent relationships with Contractors to maintain project goals. + Coordinate with PM to manage the Contractor monthly payment process and recommends appropriate adjustments as necessary to manage the Contractor. + Position will work in both a field and office setting. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. **Qualifications** **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Be able to manage multi-discipline design teams, with minimal supervision. + Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task. + Outstanding record of successful Water Projects – Thorough knowledge of industry codes to ensure compliance of federal and state regulations, understanding of new technologies and cutting-edge methods. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + OSHA training/certification and Confined Space Entry certification beneficial (or will train, if needed for an assignment). + Must have good driving record and a valid driver’s license. + Required software applications include: Adobe, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
