The Opportunity

Under the guidance of the Director of Care or Executive Director, the Resident Care Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care to residents. This role combines leadership, clinical expertise, and strategic thinking to ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centered care in alignment with AgeCare’s mission, values, and standards of excellence.

What You Will Do
Champion resident satisfaction and lead quality improvement initiatives.
Support nursing staff in developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of nursing staff.
Oversee scheduling and ensure smooth operations in the absence of department heads.
Resolve care-related issues with residents, families, and advocates.
Foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to resident care.
Act as a clinical role model and mentor to nursing staff.
Deliver ongoing education and development for care teams.
Utilize MDS and Care Management systems effectively.
Ensure site-wide oversight in the absence of senior management.
Promote a culture of ethics, dignity, trust, and respect for all.
What You Bring
Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or long-term care.
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current unrestricted license (or eligible for BCCNM registration).
Skilled in managing unionized teams and navigating complex care environments.
Strong background in quality improvement, risk management, and person-centered care.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with BC health legislation, standards, and care regulations.
