Description

A globally recognized biotechnology leader, specializing in drug target validation and functional genomics, is expanding its Indianapolis team. We are currently seeking an Animal Lab Research Technician to support our growing operations. In this role, you will play a key part in the daily care and maintenance of the animal facility, contributing to essential research and development efforts.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the health of all animals are properly cared for. Fed, watered, and have clean bedding at all timesPerform all animal care tasks in strict accordance with animal welfare regulationsCoordinate the receipt, handling, and delivery of vivarium suppliesWash, dry, and autoclave equipment and materials as neededAccurately maintain relevant records, manually and electronicallyComplete scheduled tasks to ensure cleanliness and sterility of designated areasKeep the vivarium, storage, and office spaces organized and hygienicAdhere to all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environmentMonitor and uphold OHS standards throughout the facilityFollow quarantine protocols for designated facility zonesAppropriately dispose of biohazard waste in compliance with safety guidelinesAssist with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) studies and accurately document findingsConduct clinical observations and record body weights of rodents (rats and mice)Perform other duties as assigned to support research and facility operations

Additional Skills & Qualifications

2) 2+ months of vivarium experience

4) Experience being responsible for animal husbandry and maintaining vivarium colonies

5) Ability to work independently and efficiently

6) Strong communication skills, as this individual will work with partners all across the world

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
