Research Technician III **Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):** Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in one of the fields: geophysics, engineering, physics. Experience in geophysical fieldwork in remote regions. **Preferred Qualifications:** Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in engineering, physics, geophysics, or system management. Experience in science project management. Experience in students mentoring. Experience in first aid/emergency respondence. **Brief Description of Duties:** The Research Technician will assist the Principal Investigator, Dr. Weisen Shen, in the Department of Geosciences, performing geophysical fieldwork, instrument development, and other related educational efforts related to the funded project. Particularly, to help plan, prepare, and participate in fieldwork to acquire, process, and store geophysical data in remote regions. The incumbent will need strong oral and written communication skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively within a diverse research team and with other stakeholders of the project. **Duties:** + Assist in planning, preparing, participating in geophysical campaigns in remote areas. This duty sometimes may extend to a multi-week long trip. + Assist in developing new geophysical instruments. + Assist in geophysics course teaching and lab preparations. + Assist in instrument-related work for other community members of the department + Other duties as assigned. **Special Notes:** The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation.
