**Required Qualifications (as evidenced by attached resume):**
Associate’s Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years full time experience in Biology, Marine Biology, or related field. SCUBA Certified. Experience operating a small boat. One (1) year of full time experience with organizing and analyzing large data sets.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Experience with clams and oysters. SCUBA research experience. Experience using dissolved gasses to establish experiments with different levels of pH and oxygen. Experience synthesizing large data sets into figures and reports. Working knowledge of statistical analyses. Experience with field survey techniques with SCUBA.
**Brief Description of Duties:**
The Research Technician II will work under the direction of Principal Investigator, Dr. Christopher Gobler. The position will include extensive field work, including benthic surveys using SCUBA, collection of seaweed and shellfish samples from boats, and collection of water samples. The Research Technician II will also be responsible for processing field samples and conducting a variety of laboratory analyses, and inputting and managing the associated data.
**Duties:**
+ Benthic field surveys with SCUBA.
+ Perform field sampling (water, shellfish, seaweed).
+ Laboratory processing of field samples (bivalve condition and gonad index, dissolved nutrient and chlorophyll samples) **.**
+ Data analysis and report writing **.**
+ Laboratory experiments and analyses **.**
+ Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Non-Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
**Evening and weekend work may be required at times.**
