Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Research Technician to join our Research Station Team (SPT) in Waimea, Hawaii. The Research Technician position will support the day-to-day activities for Research Seed Production (SPD) in implementing and performing vital tasks associated with breeding and hybrid seed development. This position would assist the implementation of daily tasks, lead seasonal field workers, ensure to meet plot target seed production and collection of quality data. Supervisory skills are required to lead a field labor worker to ensure their safety in the work environment and follow SOPs to ensure high quality data and seeds generated from field experiments.

What You'll Do:
Genetics Nursery Seed Preparation, Planting, tagging, Pollination, Detasseling, Data collection, Rouging, Discarding, Husk Back, Harvesting, Seed Handling and Shipping Preparation.
Assist Seed Production LEAD, Seed Production Supervisor and Research Specialists in implementing all aspects of day-to-day nursery activities in the field including Research Seed Production nurseries, Hybrid Breeding Seed Production, Special Projects, RSC and Isolation Nurseries.
Provide crew leadership and transportation for seasonal employees and conduct various field activities.
Supports technology development and deployment programs including use of computer, printers, data collection using iPad, Scio Moisture tester and picture report using iPhone.
Participates actively in research center safety programs and activities to meet the goal of Zero safety incidents.
What Skills You Need:
Must be a high School Graduate (Diploma needed).
College level or college graduate applicants are welcome.
Detailed oriented
Willing to work overtime, Weekends and Holidays if needed.
Willing and Able to work on shift work
Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
Reliable, Honest and have good attendance.
Ability to work in a Team.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Eager to learn new things to add to their knowledge base and skills.
Have a positive attitude and Self Motivated.
With HW issued Driver’s License is a plus.
Having experience working in Corn Seed production is a plus.
