Research Specialist
The Geriatric Psychiatry Neuroimaging (GPN) Program is interested in the mental well-being of the fastest growing population of our communities, the elderly and aging. with a concentration on those experiencing loneliness and depression. GPN analyzes a series of data from assessments, as well as brain imaging data. The Research Specialist will be responsible for conducting initial phone screening interviews with older adults experiencing loneliness and supporting additional clinical tasks for both the BI-OASIS and GREAT-MH programs. They will also accompany SERA participants to MRI appointments and assist with blood sample processing and deliveries. This position is grant funded. **Responsibilities:** + Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s). + Accompany participants to MRI scanning appointments, ensuring their positive experience while participating in the study. + Provide study payments, process and deliver blood as needed. + Collaborate with senior research personnel regarding recruitment, data collection, outcomes of interviews, reports according to the needs of the study. + Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, Sociology or related research field. + Minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required. + Familiarity with computers and common software packages required. + Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + Act 34 with renewal **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
