Simulation and Applied-AI for Electronics Research

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Simulation and AI Researcher with a background in the electronics domain to join our Foundational Technology team at Siemens.

In this role, you will play a key part in advancing the next-generation electronics simulation methods, supporting electronics design, verification, and manufacturing tools that align with Siemens’ strategic goals in automation, energy efficiency, and sustainability.

You will have the unique opportunity to work hands-on with Siemens’ proprietary EDA and simulation tools, gaining experience with cutting-edge platforms that are shaping the future of electronics innovation.

In this role you will work on-site in Princeton, NJ.

Key Responsibilities:

Research on next-generation, AI/ML-infused simulation methods for electronic device design, verification, and manufacturing.Integrate new simulation and AI approaches to improve device modeling, manufacturability, performance prediction, reusability, and reliability analysis. Develop digital twin applications for integrated circuits and printed board circuits using Siemens EDA software.to understand customer requirements, gaps, and technology development, and to transition research outcomes to Siemens products.Present, explain, and demonstrate technical results with customers on abstract levels in internal meetings, visits, video conferences, and external conferences.Protect the results of your work through patent applications and publish results at conferences or in top journals.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications: 

Basic Qualifications: 

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or similar, from an accredited university with a strong focus on electronics.Minimum of 4 years of research or development experience in simulation and applied-AI.Minimum of 4 years of experience with simulation tools such as SPICE, and EDA tools such as OpenROAD, and KiCad.Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in electronics.Minimum of 4 years of experience in python, and C++ programming languages.Experience working in international project teams with strong customer orientation and stakeholder management skills.Proficiency in English  (verbal & written).

Preferred Qualifications:  

Practical experience of using and building methods with ScientificML, transfer learning, reinforcement learning, generative AI, or federated learning.Minimum of 4 years of experience in electronics design, including logic synthesis, place-and-route design, and design for manufacturing (e.g., OPC).Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, including front end and back end of line, packaging, testing, and yield assessment.Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development.Real-world problem-solving and a hands-on, can-do mentality.Flexibility and resourcefulness to work in a growing, dynamic, interdisciplinary team of specialists.Proficiency in German (verbal & written).

The pay range for this position is $90,510 - $189,360 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
