The Department of Human Development and Family Studies ( HDFS ) is one of eight academic programs in the College of Health and Human Sciences ( CHHS ). CSU is Colorado’s land grant institution and holds the Doctoral/Research University – Very High Research Activity classification from the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education. CSU is part of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences-funded Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute ( CCTSI ), along with University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus/University of Colorado Denver, University of Boulder, and area hospitals including Children’s Hospital Colorado. Interdisciplinary collaborations across CCTSI member agencies and throughout urban and rural areas of Colorado are encouraged. The HDFS unit collaborates regularly with Extension Specialists in the CSU Office of Engagement and Extension, whose purpose is to make research-based information, resources, and programming available to all Coloradoans throughout the state. Position Summary The Research Scientist will work directly to contribute to interdisciplinary, inter-institutional, and stakeholder/community-engaged research activities, program evaluation projects, and Colorado State University ( CSU ) services delivery, all of which foster grants and contracts. The person in this position will work closely with faculty and staff in the College of Health and Human Sciences ( CHHS ), including the Department of Human Development and Family Studies ( HDFS ) as well as CHHS’s other units. Collaborations also typically occur within CSU at large, as well as clinicians, clinician-scientists, and scientists and staff within the Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute ( CCTSI ), Children’s Hospital Colorado’s main hospital on the Anschutz Medical Campus and its satellite units and outreach clinics throughout the state, and/or other partners. The Research Scientist will be expected to implement activities within partnerships relevant to prevention and intervention science and services within the state and nationally, with the goal of advancing health equity. As such, this position necessitates an ability to work with a diverse group of professionals and community members/organizations in a self-directed and collaborative manner. Tasks will range from identifying and developing community and stakeholder-engaged research and program evaluation collaborations, developing new ideas for and designing research studies, developing program evaluation plans, analyzing and interpreting data with support from biostatisticians, to dissemination of research and program evaluation findings through research reports, manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals, and presenting findings at local, national, and international workshops and conferences. Evaluation will be based upon HDFS guidelines. Preferred Job Qualifications + License to practice psychology in Colorado or license eligible in Colorado. + Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and/or families from diverse backgrounds and identities. + Bilingual English/Spanish oral fluency. + Demonstrated capacity, or potential, to support attainment of extramural grants and contracts (for example, as evidenced by receipt of grants/contracts/awards and education training in grant-writing). + Postdoctoral clinical and/or research experience Record of high-quality scholarly publications. + Experience with clinical trials.
