This position will be supporting the **Propulsions Systems Division** at our facility located in **Promontory, UT.** **_Position Summary:_** R&D scientist needed to support development, scale-up, manufacture and test activities of propellants and explosives at Promontory facilities. This individual will be expected to interface with management and customers on proposals, program status and technical accomplishments. **_Skills & Qualifications:_** • Excellent chemical laboratory technique • Understanding of synthetic design principles • Understanding of analytical chemical testing • Strong problem-solving skills • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Excellent time management and organizational skills • Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture • Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check for the Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA) **_Basic Qualifications:_** **_This position can be filled at either a level 2 or level 3._** **_Research Scientist_** • Position requires an MS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or a BS in one of these areas with 2 years’ experience • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrated ability to write test plans to execute chemical and mechanical testing in controlled environments and effectively process/assess results • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain secret clearance **_Principal Research Scientist_** • Position requires a PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 1 year experience, a MS in one of those fields with 3 years’ experience, or a BS in one of these areas with 5 years’ experience • Experience working with energetic materials • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain secret clearance **_Preferred Qualifications:_** Specialized skills may be considered in lieu of experience. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
