Research Scientist - Computational Chemist

This scientist will focus on developing material, process and system innovation for near eye displays and beyond, and will become part of a team exploring novel concepts through design, modeling and fast iterative prototyping. **Required Skills:** Research Scientist - Computational Chemist Responsibilities: 1. Play a critical role in developing/identifying new materials and processes for AI devices 2. Develop and utilize advanced computational models and various approaches of first-principle simulations to understand the optical, electrical, mechanical and thermal properties of organic, inorganic and hybrid material systems 3. Support the team exploring novel concepts through design, modeling, and fast iterative prototyping 4. Develop and implement research agendas, apply high standards to the research, and develop an capacity to identify highly impactful projects in a complete and unexplored domain **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 5. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience 6. PhD degree or equivalent experience in Computational Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field 7. 3+ years of experience in computational methods for material discovery, process, and device development 8. Proficient with molecular dynamics software (LAMMPS, HOOMD) for organic and inorganic materials 9. Skilled in force field development (GAFF, Openff, OPLS) 10. Experienced with high-throughput ab-initio calculations (Gaussian, Orca, QEspresso, VASP) 11. Familiar with coarse-grain molecular dynamics 12. Demonstrated experience in communication skills for board audiences 13. Proficient in C/C++ and Python coding 14. Knowledge of rare-event phenomena and advanced sampling techniques **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 15. First-author publications in high quality journals or conferences 16. Demonstrated research and engineering experience via grants, patents, internships, or competitions 17. Skilled in problem-solving with consideration of broad range of perspectives, experiences, approaches, and background 18. Experience communicating research to public or peer audiences 19. Cross-functional teamwork and communication experience 20. Expertise beyond DFT methods, such as GW and GW-BSE 21. Research background in organic materials and excited-state properties 22.
