Research Project Manager I

Responsible for managing significant and key aspects of one or more grant proposals from start-up to closeout; ensure compliance with research protocols and regulatory standards for increased procedural and data accuracy; educate research staff on established policies, processes, and procedures; responsible for monitoring the financial status of multiple research grants, sub-contracts, and consultant and service agreements in multiple areas utilizing proper accounting procedures including basic and clinical research, as well as collaborating with one or more departments/divisions including the responsibility over a major research area; analyze expense reports for the proper allocation of grant funds and expenses; collaborate with external departments to verify and correct all accounting errors; assist the Principal Investigators in the preparation of research grants, with specific responsibility for the preparation of budgets and budget justifications in compliance with internal and external agency guidelines; analyze budgets and forecast to identify trends, grant balances and problems that will enhance departmental long-term planning; prepare financial reports in compliance with internal and agency guidelines; supervise and assign duties to other team members; direct and train support staff in policies and procedures and monitor performance; ensure Institutional Review Board renewals are completed; contribute to development of consent forms for approval by IRB; maintain a library of research and grant documents; assist the PI and EPI in determining effective strategies for promoting and recruiting research participants, and retaining participants in long-term research studies/projects; develop and manage recruitment team schedules; oversee management and distribution of study related incentives; serve as primary contact for research participants, sponsors, and regulatory agencies; lead project development and team meetings, prepare/approve agendas/minutes, and keep current on industry methods and trends; utilize and apply knowledge of performance metrics, comprehensive workflows, a ccounting procedures, finance, Research Administration procedures, Project Management, Process Improvement, Microsoft Office Suite, Six Sigma methodologies, REDCap, OnCore, EPIC/MiChart, SQL, R, Python and Data Analysis and Collection to perform assigned duties; manage and oversee study databases and other operational infrastructures; monitor staffing levels; and represent the research team in the hiring of project team members under the direction of department managers.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Health Services Administration, Healthcare Management, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Training: None.
Experience: Six (6) months in the position above, as a Research Grant Manager, as a Senior Project Researcher, as a Research Assistant I, as a Research Assistant II, or in a related occupation;
Other Requirements: Experience must include any use of all the following : Research Administration procedures, Project Management, Process Improvement, Microsoft Office Suite, REDCap, OnCore, EPIC/MiChart, and Data Analysis and Collection.
