Job Summary

\n

The Research Project Manager leads the project team for a multi-clinic project and plans, develops, implements, manages, and reports on the project to internal and external stakeholders and the research program. This position provides key administrative help by developing strategies to advance the research program. It ensures goals are met while complying with all rules, regulations, and funding constraints. Other duties include negotiating and monitoring project budgets and assisting in writing proposals.

\n

Essential Functions of the Role

\n\nWrites and helps develop proposals and budgets for projects assigned by the department.\nDevelops project budgets and ensures budget requirements are met. Reviews project-related contracts and approves invoices within the project budget. Implements and executes management conclusions.\nPrepares documents like brochures, case report forms, informed consent documents, and IND application components. Reviews new protocols and materials from the sponsor. Provides input to the Principal Investigator on clinical and research issues to establish financial and clinical feasibility.\nServes as a primary liaison with personnel involved in the project. Resolves barriers to the advancement of the program's strategy.\nFosters relationships with project sponsor, participating clinics, stakeholders from various internal departments and project team. Maintains current relationships and establishes new ones with entities that can contribute to the program's priorities.\nConducts audits of project activities to check the accuracy, integrity and consistency of research conduct.\nProvide guidance to program team members. Interact regularly with the team to establish resource needs, coordinate activities, and identify deliverables and due dates. Ensure efficient communication and reporting of operational activities by program team members.\nOrganizes and conducts team meetings to ensure adherence to goals, budget, and timelines. Provides program leadership through team management and evaluation.\n\n

Key Success Factors

\n\nProven written and oral communication skills.\nProven leadership skills in project management techniques.\nExceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and familiar with project management software, including Smartsheet.\nAbility to travel periodically to various participating clinics in the DFW and Austin areas, as needed.\nAbility to manage time-reactive projects.\nWorking knowledge of the beliefs and practices of developing, administering, and implementing a clinical trial in compliance with sponsorship.\nAble to work autonomously and coordinate efficiently to meet program timelines.\nWork in a matrix organization, manage resources, and resolve problems. Think critically and efficiently to advance the program.\n\n

EDUCATION - Masters' or Bachelors Degree plus 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualificationEXPERIENCE - 4 Years of Experience
