\nJob Summary
\nThe Research Project Coordinator II plans, develops, implements, manages, and reports on a multidisciplinary research program. This position uses project management skills to ensure timely progress. It meets goals and priorities while complying with all rules, regulations, and funding constraints.
\nEssential Functions of the Role
\n\nWorks with team heads and others to define the strategic initiatives, scope, goals, and timelines of the research program.\nDevelops program budgets and ensures budget requirements are met. Reviews program-related contracts and approves invoices within the program budget.\nPrepares, facilitates, and coordinates the process for submitting IRB applications. Ensures submissions are accurate and timely for protocol revisions or amendments. Prepares and submits external serious adverse event reports per IRB policy. Reads and interprets information in MedWatch forms from the sponsor for SAE reports.\nPrepares, maintains, and updates regulatory binders for auditors and monitors. Prepares documents like the clinical protocol, investigator's brochure, case report forms, informed consent documents, and IND application components.\nServes as a program liaison with internal and external departments. Works with personnel involved in the program to resolve barriers. Uses project management skills to ensure the program progresses on time.\nFosters relationships with academia, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries. Maintains current relationships and establishes new ones with entities that can contribute to the program's priorities.\nDesigns and implements processes and procedures to ensure advancement of the program's strategic initiatives.\nProvides guidance to program team members. Interacts regularly with the team to establish resource needs. Coordinates activities of operational areas and identifies deliverables and target due dates.\nOrganizes and conducts team meetings to ensure adherence to strategic initiatives, goals, budget and timelines.\n\nKey Success Factors
\n\nProven written and oral communication skills.\nProven leadership skills in project management, including project management tools and techniques.\nExceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.\nAbility to manage time reactive projects in order to meet deadlines.\nProven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.\nKnow the beliefs and practices for developing, administering, and implementing a clinical trial. Follow sponsor, federal, state, and institutional regulations.\nAble to work autonomously, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and work efficiently to meet program timelines.\nWork in a matrix organization to plan, organize, and coordinate staff and resources.
