This position is based in Bethesda, Maryland. Ideal candidates will possess experience in the following: government clinical program experience; clinical trials experience within large institutions, and infectious disease experience.
Discover Impactful Work:
Accounts for all drug supplies received for studies including documentation of receipt, dispensation, and return of drug. Ensures that established packaging and preparation of dose procedures are followed by all staff. Ensures quality assurance regarding all pharmacy technician documentation and preparation of doses. Works closely with support of department management tin all aspects of pharmacy operations and management.
A day in the Life:
Serves as Pharmacy Lead on incoming clinical study protocols; plans andprepares for accurate dosing including packaging, preparation, and administration of doses.Anticipates potential dosing errors and develops a plan of action to prevent their occurrence.Ensures adequate supplies of clinical samples are retained with documentation ofrandom selection procedure, as required for study.Serves as liaison and consultant to sponsors concerning pharmacy details forfuture and current protocols.Interacts as a vital member of the project team offering guidance in pharmacyprocedures and operations specific to each protocol.Serves as departmental resource for pharmacy related clinical inquiries fromInvestigators, clinic training and support staff, Client Services, Sponsorcompanies, and others as needed.Participates in cross training activities with other departments.Works with management on improving department processes and needs.Understands and optimally uses corporate procurement procedures.Performs special duties and assignments as needed.Education & Experience:
Doctor of PharmacyLicensed to practice pharmacy in the applicable state or eligible to receive licensure within required timeframeNational, State or Local licensures and certifications as requiredPrevious experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
• Work is performed in an office/ laboratory and/or a clinical environment.
• Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms.
• Exposure to electrical office equipment.
• Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves.
• Exposure to high pressure, intense concentration needed
• Must be able to multi-task constantly
• Frequent interaction with clients / associates required
• Long, varied hours required occasionally
• Travel and rotating shifts required on rare occasions
• Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day.
• Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
• Frequent mobility required.
• Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
• Kneeling, twisting of upper body / neck, and pushing / pulling of items required occasionally.
• Lifting / carrying objects of 5-25 lbs. required daily.
• Lifting / carrying objects of 26-50+lbs. required occasionally
• Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen t ,and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary pay range estimated for this position Pharmacist III based inMaryland is $110,000.00–$140,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
