*Position Summary:*
The Department of Gynecologic Oncology & Reproductive Medicine is seeking a dedicated *Research Nurse* to support a single-provider study. This hybrid role includes both onsite and remote telemedicine. The ideal candidate will have experience in *clinical research* and *oncology*, and will play a key role in patient education, coordination of care, and protocol management. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are highly preferred.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Coordination of Care**
* Coordinate and facilitate the informed consent process across a range of treatment, interventional, and non-interventional trials.
* Verify eligibility and communicate screening and scheduling updates to the multidisciplinary team.
* Schedule patient tests, communicate results, and ensure patients are informed about all aspects of their participation.
* Serve as liaison between patients, physicians, and research staff.
* Track protocol-related labs, test results, and responses.
* Monitor patients on chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and cell therapy protocols; assess for dose delays or reductions based on clinical and lab criteria.
* Identify and address the educational, emotional, and psychosocial needs of patients and caregivers participating in clinical trials.
* Utilize the OneConnect system to ensure accurate documentation of research-related charges and billing compliance.
**Protocol Management**
* Maintain comprehensive knowledge of adverse event reporting and regulatory requirements.
* Prepare data for monitoring visits, audits, and safety summaries.
* Lead patient update communications with study sponsors.
* Collect and submit FDA-required documentation (including serious adverse events) to appropriate oversight bodies.
* Coordinate with other institutions for multi-center trials.
* Demonstrate knowledge of research regulations (Code of Federal Regulations, ICH-GCP) and institutional guidelines.
* Accurately collect and enter study data following current protocols and compliance standards.
* Apply knowledge of the NCI-Common Toxicity Criteria in monitoring and reporting.
**Patient Care**
* Assess treatment responses and adverse reactions through patient interaction and medical record review.
* Deliver quality, developmentally appropriate, and diagnosis-specific care.
* Educate patients and caregivers on treatment expectations, side effects, and clinical trial participation, using both in-person and telehealth methods.
* Provide ongoing support to help patients manage complex needs and maintain optimal daily functioning.
**Other Duties as Assigned**
* Focused primarily on the *BOLSTER Study* with one provider.
* Conduct telemedicine visits with patients and caregivers.
* Recruit patients and educate them about the study and supportive care interventions.
* Participate in palliative or hospice care discussions when applicable.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Bilingual in *English and Spanish*.
* Experience in *clinical research*, oncology, palliative, or hospice care.
* Familiarity with clinical trials and patient education.
* Background as a *Clinical Nurse* with some oncology exposure is ideal, though specific research nursing experience is not required.

Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
*Experience*
One year of registered nursing experience.
*Licensure/Certification*
Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Preferred: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS),ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
