Our laboratory utilizes molecular genetics and evolution to investigate the role of ?selfish? gene families in non-Mendelian inheritance and sperm development. This is an excellent position for a recent college graduate interested in gaining a few years of research experience before applying to graduate school. As such, the technician will have one or more independent research projects of their own and will work together with the PI to develop their project(s). The projects have the potential to be completed within one to two years, enabling the applicant the possibility of obtaining a publication before applying to graduate school. The position is thus an excellent opportunity to have regular and direct hands-on training from a PI and determine whether they are interested in pursuing a graduate degree.
