Key Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain complex research databases, including the Virtual Data Warehouse (VDW), Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP), and PCORnet Common Data Model (CDM), to support and enhance EIRH research activities.
• Design and maintain automated data pipelines using Python, SAS, and modern cloud-based tools to curate, transform, validate, and submit data across multiple research data models.
• Develop research project datasets, reports, and deliverables to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of data for analysis, publications, and regulatory reporting.
• Plan and implement data extraction methodologies from structured and semi-structured data sources; analyze and interpret data using SQL, Python, and SAS.
• Identify, evaluate, and integrate new internal and external data sources, including data from cloud storage, APIs, and federated networks.
• Apply knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and automation tools, such as SSIS, Airflow, Databricks Workflows, or other modern pipeline orchestration tools.
• Leverage expertise in healthcare business intelligence and research data management, particularly with data sourced from the Epic Data Model (Clarity, Caboodle, Cogito).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong programming experience in Python, including use of pandas, pyodbc, or SQLAlchemy for data wrangling and transformation.
• Experience working with SAS for data manipulation and validation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and associated data services (e.g., blob storage, compute instances, managed Spark services).
• Knowledge of SQL-based engines such as Dremio, Databricks, or Spark SQL for querying large-scale datasets.Education Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field of study and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Computer Programming or Systems Analysis position including documented experience creating SQL queries or documented SAS experience in a research environment.

Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field of study and a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Computer Programming or Systems Analysis position including documented experience creating SQL queries or documented SAS experience. Experience in a research environment preferred.

Minimum of 9 years of experience in a Computer Programming or Systems Analysis Position including documented experience creating SQL queries or documented SAS experience. Experience in a research environment preferred.
