RESEARCH FELLOW Apply Now **Job Summary** The Rao Lab in Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, the University of Michigan Medical School seeks to understand pluripotent stem cell biology, genomics, epigenetics and epitranscriptiome as languages to better understand how the retina forms, so that we can learn new ways to generate the retinal cells that die in disease, with the hope of regenerating cells through cell or drug therapies. The NGS data for analysis includes DNA (bulk ATAC-seq, Cut & Run, ChIP-seq, 3-D Micro-C), RNA (bulk RNA-seq), RNA modifications (Nanopore-seq, GLORI and DART-seq), single cell multiomics (snATAC-seq and snRNA-seq) and intergration of DNA/RNA/RNA modification data. + Development of routine and novel analysis approaches to interpret bioinformatics/clinical and/or mutiomics data and adjust recommend approaches to experimental design and analysis. + Actively review new publications and adapt emerging methods and approaches to existing projects **Required Qualifications*** + PhD degree in bioinformatics + Minimum 1 year of relevant experience + Hands-on experience with R and/or Python and performing independent computational modeling. + Ability to maintain data storage and usage of high-performance computing resources provided at University of Michigan (Turbo Storage Globus, DataDen) + Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) data deposit for manuscript submission and acceptance + Excellent organizational and time management, verbal and written communication skills **Desired Qualifications*** The ideal candidate will have extablished experience working in Python and/or R, and will also have hands-on experience analyzing single cell multiomics (snATAC-seq and snRNA-seq) **Modes of Work** Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
