Ford’s VPSE organization is seeking qualified candidates to join our team to develop control and diagnostic algorithms that support future diesel powertrain programs. The advanced diesel controls team is a vibrant group of engineers responsible for researching, developing and implementing control systems and diagnostic strategies that help make Ford vehicles environmentally responsible while delivering the performance customers expect. Successful candidates for this position will have demonstrated experience designing and delivering control software for dynamic systems and a passion for attaining a deep understanding of interrelated vehicle systems.

What you'll do…
Responsibilities will include development and implementation of control and diagnostic algorithms for engine-related systems in future diesel programs in the US and globally. An engineer in this position will:
Design and deploy control algorithms to embedded controllers (including rapid prototyping into production level ECUs) Use MATLAB/Simulink or other tools to create embedded control software Develop, test, and validate new embedded controls and diagnostics for diesel programs, including fuel system, air path and exhaust aftertreatment in both physical and modeling environments Create software requirements, specifications, and validation plans Perform verification of the controls and control systems via control calibration and vehicle testing Work closely with downstream customers to validate the application of the control and diagnostic solutions and develop requirements, optimization models and calibration guides
