Job Description

   

The Research Communication Specialist Sr. plays a key role in developing and executing communication strategies for grant programs within the TechQuity Health Lab. This position focuses on engaging grant program communities and collaborators through multiple platforms, including social media, internal and external websites, newsletters, and community calendars. By leveraging these channels, the Specialist enhances visibility and understanding of each grant program's contributions to research in clinical care, health information systems, medical device development and regulation, and global health.

Essential Job Functions:

Manage social media channels and maintain the publications, presentations, and media database and operationalize its content as part of our communication strategy in addition to incorporating entries into the social media schedule

Identify and create opportunities to promote, elevate, and celebrate portfolio companies, consortium organizations, and advisory boards

Coordinate marketing and promotion activities with the marketing and communications team at consortium sites and portfolio companies as appropriate

Maintain external website and internal Google site for Portfolio members and prepare/post press releases

Curate content and manage distribution list for timely dissemination of newsletters

Scan for content that is relevant for portfolio members to include on community calendar

Develop quantitative and narrative reports related to the core responsibilities listed above

Develop Key Performance Metrics for Communications in Airtable

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree

A minimum of 1 – 5 years writing and communications experience required, preferably in healthcare or the non-profit sector.

Demonstrated ability to understand, narrate and contextualize complex information in a compelling and accurate manner.

Strong understanding of healthcare, medicine and biomedical science is preferred.

Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects under demanding

deadlines.

Experience using social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) to create engaging communications materials.

Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to work with staff at all levels

Pay Range

$70,720.00-$115,627.20 Salary

At Lurie Children’s, we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position.
