We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Associate / Research Scientist to join our Mass Spectrometry Team, based in Slough, UK.
About the role
You will be part of the Protein Structure and Biophysics group supporting NBE and NCE discovery from pre-portfolio investigation through to candidate selection. This laboratory-based position requires hands-on experience working with LC-MS systems in a multi-disciplinary environment.
What you’ll do
Acquire and interpret LC-MS data on protein therapeutic moleculesDevelop methods and follow established LC-MS protocolsTroubleshoot reversed-phase LC-MS systems and take appropriate actionSupport work for multiple projectsClearly communicate results in team and project meetingsMaintain accurate records of experimental procedures
Who you’ll work with
Reporting to the group lead and working with senior group members you’ll support the protein production, antibody purification and project teams
For this position we are looking for the following education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with additional laboratory experience (academic or industrial) using mass spectrometryHands-on experience with Thermo Orbitrap or Waters ToF LC-MS systems is beneficialUse of reversed phase UPLC for NBE or NCE analysisKnowledge of protein chemistry and PTMsTroubleshooting and maintenance of LC-MS equipmentAppreciation of antibody and protein expression systems and purification protocolsExcellent organisational, communication, record-keeping, team-working abilitiesAre you ready to ‘go beyond’ to create value and make your mark for patients?
