JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of the In Vivo Research Associate I position is to provide support on In vivo studies within the In Vivo Pharmacology group meeting Company's goals, objectives and quality standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works closely with Study Directors, Study Coordinators, In Vivo Managers, and cross functional team members to ensure all assigned studies are conducted in accordance with study protocols, standard operating procedures and company policiesCollection of body weight dataCollection of tumor volume measurementsCollect tissue samples and process for shipment to sponsor as well as internal purposesPreparation of animals for procedures, including shaving, ear tagging and other tasks as directedPerformance of clinical observations and humane euthanasia in miceCollect relevant data and provide feed back to team members regarding progress of assigned projectsPerformance of basic in vivo procedures, including PO, SC and IP dosingMay be trained on more complex proceduresProviding general group support by cleaning, general supply stocking and sample shippingResponsible for tracking time spent on projects (project logs)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in the life science/biotech industryComfortable working in a laboratory animal research environment

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

At least 6 months of experience handling mice and/or rats in a Vivarium environment is preferredPrior CRO or research experience is preferredKnowledge and interest in oncology is preferredPlanning, organizational skills and flexibility in a reactive environmentDemonstrated accountability and responsibility for own workAbility to follow standard operating procedures, observe safety and security procedures

The California salary range for this position is:

Research Associate I: $23- $27.82
