Summary of Job Duties:The Research Associate will provide advanced support for multiple research studies led by various Principal Investigators (PIs) in the College of Nursing. This role is responsible for both pre-award and post-award research activities.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of IRB requirements, research compliance, and human subject protections. Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with data management systems such as REDCap or Excel is highly desirable.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field PLUS five (5) years of research experience
Must obtain UAMS Certified Research Specialist certification within one (1) year of employment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, and database management systems (REDCap or equivalent)
Advanced computer proficiency level
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience interpreting and applying IRB regulations and human subject protections
Prior experience managing databases and supporting clinical research projects

Responsibilities:
Prepare, submit, and maintain IRB documentation and regulatory compliance records
Recruit, screen, and coordinate study participants in alignment with study protocols
Collect, enter, and manage study data with accuracy and confidentiality
Build and maintain study databases in REDCap, Excel, or other data management systems
Assist with development and monitoring of project budgets
Generate progress and final reports in accordance with grant guidelines
Provide support in manuscript and grant preparation
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to ensure smooth project operations
Perform other duties as assigned by the PIs or Department leadership
This position is a Designated Research Position and is regulated by the Arkansas Research Education Protection Act of 2025.
