POSITION SUMMARY
Beacon Hill is seeking an ambitious, curious, and detail-oriented (Senior) Research Associate to join our client's growing team. Working closely with their other R&D scientists, you will help drive drug discovery and development efforts by designing and conducting experiments. This is an exciting opportunity to work with, and learn from, multidisciplinary teams in a small, fast-paced biotechnology company. The successful candidate can work effectively in a team-oriented environment and is accustomed to delivering robust data on a timeline.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute bacterial and mammalian cultivations to produce p*MHC components and antibodies.Apply bioprocessing techniques, including affinity and size-exclusion chromatography, to purify target components, evaluate yield and purity, and maintain proper storage and organization.Support the development and implementation of novel research tools and assays utilizing standard molecular biology and biochemical lab techniques.Assist experiments leveraging phage display technology to discover and develop therapeutic antibodies.Assist with operational tasks in and out of the lab.Communicate experimental plans and results to the leadership team.Meticulous electronic lab notebook documentation.On-site work only, no hybrid or remote option. SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
B.Sc. in biochemistry, microbiology, biology, bioengineering, immunology, or related field.1-2 years of industry experience in a biotech/pharma company or full-time academic lab experience.Expertise with E.coli culture and transformation, as well as protein expression and purification, is preferred.Knowledge and experience with standard molecular biology and biochemical lab techniques such as DNA and protein handling, including gel electrophoresis, western blotting, and ELISA.Proficiency with standard statistical analyses and data plotting (e.g., Microsoft Excel, GraphPad Prism).Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share scientific findings.Passion for working at the bench to advance programs and solve technical challenges.Self-motivation and adaptability to evolving project priorities and responsibilities.Team-oriented, with a strong work ethic.
