This position is based in Japan, but reports outside the country.About the Role The Research Assistant (Japanese & English Language) is responsible in performing web-based research on technology driven corporations and institutions. This is achieved through validating and quality-assuring patent data by assigning patents to their accurate commercial owners. Overall, this role would require research skills in fluent Japanese while using business-level English for internal communication. Additional language skills in Korean is also very welcome. Responsibilities + Conducting in-depth internet research to achieve data quality in patents globally. This includes focusing on identifying, understanding, and accurately processing Japanese and Korean information. + Identifying patent ownership based on extensive research on corporate structure, M&A, Spin-offs, company name changes, and patent transactions. + Exceeding productivity targets that are based on efficiency depending on the portfolio size. + Identifying future process improvements to further improve team or individual performance. Requirements + Have fluent Japanese and English Language Proficiency: Ability to read, write, and speak. (Additional Korean Language also welcome) + Have excellent analytical Skills: Ability to approach a problem by using logical, systematic, sequential approach. + Have some computer literacy and proficient in MS Office programs + Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher. + Have previous research experience is preferred but NOT required.
