The Research Assistant I (Intervention) will assist the research coordinators and Achievements lead teachers in implementing research-based intervention protocols for children with autism. The incumbent will perform duties including, but not limited to, implementing research protocols in the classrooms (in group, dyad, and 1:1 contexts), homes, and lab; preparing teaching/session materials; providing communication and training to caregivers; collecting data on research participants’ progress and intervention responses; entering, coding, and archiving data; and assisting with other research related activities. This position will work with young children with autism as a paraprofessional.

 

**Experience as registered behavior technicians/RBTs, direct support professionals for individuals with developmental delays, educational coaches, etc. highly desired

Responsibilities

1. Under the direction of senior research staff and/or Achievements classroom teachers, implement the research intervention protocols with caregivers and children with a high level of fidelity.
2. Collect data on the response of children and caregivers to interventions.
3. Assist the coordinator with participant recruitment activities (social media, mailings, posting fliers, contacting outside agencies, etc.).
4. Conduct telephone screening interviews to determine research participant eligibility and track eligibility data.
5. Consent families for studies in accordance with research protocols.
6. Code and score assessment and intervention data.
7. Maintain high levels of inter-rater reliability on all coding protocols.
8. Archive and enter data. Assist with developing tracking systems for data.
9. Create therapeutic materials.
10. Set up and break down assessments and materials in intervention settings.
11. Attend research meetings.

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have access to reliable transportation as needed to fulfill job duties

 

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, speech-language pathology, or related field is required.

 

EXPERIENCE:
• Must have experience with young children with autism and implementing research protocols.
• Must have experience delivering interventions to young children (e.g., toddlers, preschoolers) in a center-based, classroom, or home setting.

Minimum pay range USD $37,132.78/Yr. Maximum pay range USD $60,215.17/Yr.
